CLOSED-CELL SPRAY FOAM

Closed-cell spray polyurethane foam (SPF) is widely considered the gold standard in insulation performance (and Ranger's specialty). This low-expanding, spray-applied insulation creates an exceptional air seal wherever it is installed while delivering one of the highest R-values per inch available. Its dense, rigid structure is highly stable, resists moisture, and can add structural strength to your home or building. Closed-cell spray foam is an excellent choice for walls, roof decks, ceilings, crawl spaces, foundation walls, and under slab insulation. It can also be combined with other insulation materials as part of a hybrid system to maximize energy efficiency and overall building performance. At Ranger Insulation, we install InsulStar from NCFI, the oldest spray foam manufacturer in the United States and a longtime leader in developing high-performance, environmentally responsible products. InsulStar creates an effective air and moisture barrier that helps reduce energy loss, improves indoor comfort, and lowers utility costs over time. In addition to its insulating benefits, it adds structural rigidity to walls and assemblies, making it an outstanding long-term investment for both new construction and renovation projects.

BLOWN-IN BLANKET
Blown-In Blanket (BIB) insulation is a high-performance fiberglass insulation system that delivers excellent thermal and sound control. During installation, a breathable mesh is secured over wall or ceiling cavities, and fiberglass is blown in behind the mesh to completely fill the space. This creates a dense, uniform blanket of insulation that conforms around wiring, plumbing, and other obstructions for consistent coverage with minimal gaps or voids. BIB insulation is an ideal choice for exterior walls, ceilings, and interior partitions where energy efficiency and noise reduction are priorities. It offers better coverage and performance than traditional fiberglass batts and provides a cost-effective alternative to spray foam. With its ability to fill cavities completely and maintain its shape over time, BIB insulation helps improve comfort, reduce energy costs, and create a quieter indoor environment.
HYBRID PACKAGE

The best of both worlds: closed-cell spray foam + blown-in blanket system (BIBS), a smart choice for Colorado mountain builds. Ranger's Hybrid Package combines 2½" of 2lb closed-cell spray foam with a blown-in blanket system to deliver a high-performance building envelope: airtight, energy-efficient, and noticeably quieter. Here's how it works: the closed-cell layer goes on first, creating a rigid, moisture-resistant air barrier that locks out drafts and strengthens the wall assembly. The BIBS layer fills the remaining cavity completely, adding thermal depth and dramatically reducing wind and sound transmission through the walls. The result? A home or building that's tighter, more comfortable, and better insulated against Colorado's extreme temperature swings and wind, at a better value than full closed-cell throughout. Why builders and homeowners choose the Hybrid Package: - superior air sealing with the rigidity of closed-cell foam - significant noise and wind reduction compared to single-product installs - greater thermal performance than open-cell or fiberglass alone - cost-effective alternative to full closed-cell without sacrificing quality - ideal for Colorado's high-altitude climate and strict energy code requirements

WATERPROOFING
Waterproofing your foundation is one of the most important steps in protecting your home from moisture and preserving the long-term integrity of the concrete. Whether your project includes a crawl space, slab-on-grade, or walk-out basement, properly sealing the exterior foundation walls helps prevent water intrusion, reduces the risk of mold and mildew, and supports a healthier, more durable home. At Ranger Insulation, we use Mar-Flex Fusion UV, a premium spray-applied waterproofing membrane that creates a seamless, flexible barrier around your foundation. Unlike traditional rolled products, this advanced coating conforms to the surface and maintains its performance through harsh freeze-thaw cycles common in mountain climates. The result is long-lasting protection that helps your foundation withstand our high mountain elements for years to come.
FIBERGLASS

Fiberglass is one of the most widely used insulation materials in both residential and commercial applications. It's versatile, cost-effective, and performs well across a range of applications throughout a building. Fiberglass works by trapping air within its fibers to slow the transfer of heat, helping regulate interior temperatures year-round. It also has good acoustical properties, absorbing and dampening sound transmission between floors, walls, and ceilings, making it a practical choice for both exterior and interior applications. On exterior walls it is commonly installed with a 6-mil vapor barrier for moisture control. On interior partitions it helps reduce sound transfer between rooms and between floors. Fiberglass batts are available in a range of R-values and thicknesses to suit different climate zones and installation locations. For colder climates like Grand County's, thicker batts with higher R-values are typically specified to meet energy code requirements. Fiberglass is also a naturally mold-resistant material and, when properly installed with appropriate vapor management, holds up well over time.

CONDITIONED CRAWL SPACES
A conditioned crawl space is one of the most effective ways to protect your home from moisture, mildew, and mold while improving energy efficiency and indoor air quality. By sealing and insulating the crawl space at the foundation level, you create a clean, dry environment that helps regulate temperatures throughout the entire home and can even provide additional usable storage space. At Ranger Insulation, we build conditioned crawl spaces using a proven combination of closed-cell spray foam and a heavy-duty 20-mil vapor barrier. We begin by installing GuardianLiner, an American-made liner that is twine-reinforced and includes antimicrobial technology for long-term durability. All seams are sealed with waterproof tape to create a continuous moisture barrier. Next, we spray 2 inches of InsulStar from NCFI on the exterior foundation walls and in all rim joist cavities. The vapor barrier is sealed directly to the foundation and encapsulated by the foam, creating a complete air and moisture seal. As a final step, we apply DC-315 over the spray foam to add a layer of thermal protection. The result is a conditioned crawl space that helps reduce energy costs, improves comfort, protects your home’s structure, and creates a cleaner, healthier living environment from the ground up.
FOUNDATION/UNDER SLAB
Foundation insulation is spray-applied to the interior side of foundation walls before they are backfilled, while under-slab insulation is applied over the prepared substrate before concrete is poured. Together, these two systems create a continuous thermal envelope that helps protect your home from cold temperatures and moisture.
Under-slab insulation consists of closed-cell spray foam applied directly over the compacted substrate. In addition to reducing heat loss, it also serves as an effective vapor barrier. Once the foam is in place, heat tubing, rebar, and concrete are installed on top.

REScheck
REScheck is the software used to verify that a home's building envelope (insulation, windows, doors, roof, and foundation) meets the energy efficiency requirements established by the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and local building departments. Most jurisdictions require a REScheck compliance report as part of the permit process for new construction and major renovations. The software runs a UA calculation that measures total heat loss across every component of the envelope. R-values for walls and roofs, U-factors for windows and doors, skylights and other variables are all entered and calculated. The results are then compared against the required code threshold for your climate zone and a compliance report is generated. If the project passes, that report is submitted with your permit paperwork. If adjustments are needed, the report will identify exactly what needs to change to meet code requirements. Ranger prepares REScheck reports as a standalone service or as part of a full insulation scope. Because the same person preparing the report is also planning and installing the insulation system, the documentation accurately reflects the actual assembly - not a generic estimate. Ranger has extensive familiarity with Grand County's climate zone requirements and has worked with local building departments for over a decade. REScheck preparation is available for standard new construction as well as projects pursuing LEED or Energy Star certification.
